Every Friday on Twitter, I do a thing called "Follow Friday." For Follow Friday I recommend people to those that follow me, that they should follow. Really, it's just a publicity stunt for everyone in the world to follow everyone, but it does occasionally work when you stumble upon the cool people out there (a.k a. not Brittany Spear's twitter page). So since I happen to do both Twitter and the Blog, I am going to start a "Follow Friday" on the blog. Basically, I'm going to recommend, describe, and support a different blog I consistently read each week in an effort to expand your online outdoor reading. So enjoy!
Hikers are basically new to the trail, and each other, during the first week or two on the trail. Trail talk begins by breaking the ice with introductions. Eventually a common subject everyone can talk about involves their equipment. Most hikers are carrying new gear and are more than happy to explain their reasoning why they picked a certain brand. Others want to compare, to see if they made the right choice. Questions are bounced back and forth, How heavy is your pack? What kind of stove do you use? Tarp, or tent? And the question and answers continue down the trail.
More mysterious than the Snow Leopard, more intriguing then the Loch Ness Monster, more engaging then 3D televisions…
My trail name is KrispyKritter and I like to hike long distances. My first thru hike was on the Appalachian Trail northbound (nobo in hiking lingo) in 2004. Since then, I've thru hiked the Pennine Way in England, the West Highland Way in Scotland, the Bartram Trail, the Foothills Trail, The Tahoe Rim Trail, The John Muir Trail and sections of the Pacific Crest and Florida National Scenic Trails.
In just half of a year Travelcountry has taken our goal of customer service to a new level. Since our beginning in the Orlando, Florida community, customer service has always been our first priority. Recently we’ve participated in social networks, and revamped our website in an effort to reach out to our customers and provide them with support that extends beyond simply how a product works. We want to facilitate the growth of knowledge in the activities they love doing in the outdoors, as well as inform them of new techniques and technologies that appear in our industry.
