I work in healthcare and noticed an increasing number of co-workers wearing the new HOKA Bondi SR. Although I'm a minimalist shoe type of girl, I did some research and learned HOKA created this new shoe specifically for workers who are on their feet for long periods. Each of my shifts lasts 10 hours with stretches that have me standing 2-3 hours straight so I headed over to Travel Country Outfitters to try a pair for myself.
I’ve been wearing the HOKA Bondi SR for a week now and I have to say I’m very impressed. They won't win any fashion awards, but my feet love that they are so light and comfortable. The minute I put them on they had a pleasant snug feeling. I didn’t do a break-in period or a trial run, I put them on and wore them for an entire 10-hour shift. That means I'm standing for hours in surgeries or scampering from room to room for exams and evaluations. At the end of the day, my feet weren’t sore at all, and I had no hot spots.
Days of work have flown by and still no blisters or rubbing. They feel just as comfortable as they did that first day. My legs don’t feel fatigued at the end of the day either. The only thing I had to adjust to was being 2 inches taller!
If you’re a nurse, doctor, technician, server, busser or anyone who’s on their feet all day, I recommend you give the HOKA Bondi SR a try.
