I am a 25 year old Central Floridian who has always had an obsession the world’s most remote places. I have been avidly climbing, summiting peaks, hitchhiking and studying cultures and languages since I was 19 years old and just recently got into barefoot running. I still haven’t obtained a college degree due to my yearning for adventure throughout the Americas and the Middle East. After living in Colombia for two years I still travel there regularly to visit my soon to be wife Tomasa del Carmen and explore the plains, jungles, deserts and snow covered mountains of the gorgeous country. I am currently studying Turkish on my own but my ultimate educational goal is to study Middle Eastern & Central Asian languages (Turkish, Kurdish, Farsi) in the countries in which they are spoken not because I love studying grammatical rules or linguistics necessarily but because I love people and languages allow for me to be able to bridge gaps and change the world through communication and dialogue. I eventually see myself one day becoming a wilderness emergency medical technician and retiring on a farm in the Western Andes of Colombia.
